Updated: September 27, 2005 - Old pics have been moved to this page. New ones are here! Commentary coming tomorrow!

This is the game room of portnoyd and Achika from vidgame.net. Enjoy!

Welcome to our new gameroom. This is what happens when you turn the master bedroom into your game room. Here we have the backwall, with the gaming setup, futon at the bottom and crap everywhere. The TV is a 24" Toshiba. Component ins, but no HD... yet.

The front wall. We removed both sets of closet doors and lined the them with system and accessory boxes. Also note the assload of gaming shirts and the display case.

The library wall. Complete NES, complete boxed Genesis, SNES, N64, and SMS. That’s all we could fit here!

More library wall.

Yet more library wall.

This is what the room looks like with the door closed. Accessories on the door, a bookcase as a catch all for random systems, the display case again.

The window wall. PS2, Sega CD, Saturn, Game Gear, the book case, etc etc.

What to do with the ceiling? Paste it with posters!

It’s hard to see, but we made a semi-ring around the room with Nintendo wall clings of Mario, Samus, Wario, and Kirby, and the NES classic ones.

The bookcase. Note the board games, Toro tissue cover, DP guides, counselor binders and a NOA marketing binder from 1994.

Another view to the left of the door. Bobbleheads!

A focused pic of the closets. Note the middle cage rack...

Genius idea by Achika. Great for displaying collections, mostly hers. Including her FFXI plushies, Space Channel 5 shrine, game soundtracks, strategy guides, shirts and hats.

Close up of the second closet - Sony, and everything pre-NES.

That window corner again. All kinds of stuff.

Here’s the NES collection. Every US game, without exception, is featured here. I need about 300 more boxes and less than 100 manuals.

Middle of the NES library section.

Bottom of the NES library section. Note the complete Nintendo Power collection at the base.

Complete boxed Genesis collection. The plastic on the cases offers some shitty glare. :/

Middle of the Genesis library collection.

Bottom of the Genesis library collection. Even with 9 shelves, we couldn’t get them all on!

N64 and SMS games. Interesting thing about the game room. This set of shelves were not planned. Originally the entertainment center to the right of it was going to be here, and we’d have an open air entertainment center to get a bigger TV. When NES and Genesis took up that entire wall, we had to expand. This is why the TV is only 24".

SNES games.

More SNES games and spillover loose SNES and NES.

Closet #1 in detail.

Closet #1 in detail.

Closet #1 in detail.

Closet #2 in detail.

Closet #2 in detail.

Closet #2 in detail. Complete Action Max collection to the left in the bookcase. Whoo?

Where we crammed the INTV and Coleco stuffs in closet #2. NO MORE ROOM! :)

Another perspective of closet #1. Note the blob of lanyards we both collected.

300 2600 games. Hard to access, but the best place for them.

PS1 games! Achika’s next collection, no matter how much she dreads doing it.

More PS1, note the neat Ghaleon puppet.

All of our boxed GB/C/A stuff.

A complete US DC collection. Every case, manual, and disc. And it’s all Achi’s.

This is where everything else ended up. 3DO, Jag, TG16, etc etc. Note the FFX/2 statues.

Pico, PAL NES stuffs, Neo Geo AES, etc.

Complete game.com collection (we both have a set...whoo?), nGage collection (needs 6 more games), and 5200 (needs 2 games.. guess which?!)

Display stuffs on top of the entertainment center. A lot. 50:50 split - mine, hers.

PS2, GG, Saturn, and SCD. On the right is her autographed Sid Mead Tron Deadly Discs, and all of her Kingdom Hearts figures. Look! It’s a Sniderclock!

The shelf window. My DS games (25! Love the DS), eReader pop system, complete US VB (down below, off pic), Vectrex, and even a complete set of Nintendo World Store giftcards.

The back of the futon. Even the futon is game related. We put the big sticks behind it, including her Supergun.

Her PS sign, my Sonic 3 banner.

This is one of my favorite ideas - buy shoe racks, put the accessories in them. Covers everything hooked up to the gaming setup.

Famicom games, Vec stuff, and a complete Pokemon mini collection. (The Poke Box is below)

Xbox games.

GC games. We can’t close the door all the way with this case here. Oh well.

Now the contents of the display case that was seen earlier. Grey NWC, Racermate Challenge II, and Airball and Star Trek 5, both unreleased NES games.

Achi’s rare shelf. Note the rare as hell Panorama Mickey Mouse Game & Watch.

The Sega rare shelf. Blockbuster cart, CHEATA, Outback Joey, Miracle Piano, Game Factory carts, and two unreleased Game Gear games. (Berlin Wall and Street Hero)

The NES dev shelf. Dev AGCI boards, an unused TKEPROM board, and the Famicom Wideboy, to play GB games on your NES.

Thanks for looking! Back
